Jaret Mutter is the Founder of Valley Wealth Group and a Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA). He works with business owners, entrepreneurs, and families with complex financial lives on long-term wealth strategy, business planning, and multigenerational wealth decisions. With more than 20 years of experience, Jaret focuses on helping clients make coordinated financial decisions as their lives, balance sheets, and responsibilities grow more complex.

While Jaret specializes in business exit planning, his work is centered more broadly on helping clients navigate the full lifecycle of wealth - from planning for and preserving wealth, to preparing for liquidity events, to stewarding wealth across generations. His approach emphasizes clarity, coordination, and long-term decision-making.

As an entrepreneur himself, Jaret brings an ownership-minded perspective to client relationships. He understands that for many business owners, their company represents both their largest asset and a significant source of complexity and risk. This perspective shapes his proactive, thoughtful approach to financial planning and strategic decision-making.

Jaret founded Valley Wealth Group with the vision of building a modern advisory firm where clients benefit from coordinated advice across financial planning, business strategy, tax considerations, and estate planning.

A native of the Roanoke Valley, Jaret grew up on a small farm in neighboring Bedford County and returned home after attending Virginia Tech to build his career and serve the community. He currently serves on the Board of the Roanoke Valley Ronald McDonald House and has previously served on the boards of several local organizations, including ARCH Services, the Al Pollard Memorial Foundation, and Hunting Hills Country Club.

Jaret and his wife, Amy, enjoy spending time with their two daughters, both Virginia Tech graduates. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time on the farm at his homeplace, relaxing along the North Carolina shore, and cheering on Virginia Tech athletics.
